The Qatar-backed French club paid out Neymar’s astronomical €222 release clause, making him the most expensive football transfer of all time.

According to Marca, the Blaugrana stars that are part of the Brazilian squad currently competing in the Copa America were upbeat about the news of Neymar’s potential move to the Camp Nou. Both attacking midfielder Coutinho and box to box midfielder Arthur were excited to have their national team-mate come back to the Blaugrana fold.

Barcelona start their pre-season with a friendly against Premier League side Chelsea. The match is scheduled for 23rd July and is set to take place at the Saitama stadium in Saitama, Japan.
