Bandai Namco has been on a roll in recent times with churning out licensed anime titles, most notably Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, yet while Scarlet Nexus is an original IP, the footage shown during Inside Xbox suggests that this game will be able to scratch that same itch with a story about mankind’s last stand against an otherworldly threat.

According to the trailer, Scarlet Nexus will take place in a distant future where an elite group of psychics are the last line of defense against the invincible beings simply known as Others. As Yuito Sumeragi, the newest recruit to the OSF, players will be able to make use of an arsenal of psychokinesis-based abilities to take the fight to the Others and take them down.

Right now, the next generation of consoles is pretty lacking when it comes to anime-style games, so this will be a welcome inclusion when it hits. What’s more, it was confirmed that the game will support Microsoft’s Smart Delivery feature, which will let players who buy the game on Xbox One play it on the XSX at no extra cost.

Scarlet Nexus has no release date but will be released for Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
